Molluscum contagiosum is an infectious skin disease. It is marked by occurrence of slightly glossy firm papules on lower abdomen, pubic area, genitals and upper thighs. The papules are sized from as small as tip of a pin to as big as a grain. They are pale red of flash-coloured hemisphere-shaped or kind of flattened. They are not painful.
They can be passed after having sexual intercourse or touching contaminated objects (shared bath, bed or sponge, swimming in water pool).
Incubation period lasts from a half to several months.
Infection can stay for several months. The papules may clear up by themselves.
