Menopause is a physiologic process happening in woman with age. It happens when the hormones stop being produced, which is the basic function of the ovary and hypophysis and the period stops.
The menopause begins in average in women ages 45-48. The symptoms can be present several years earlier, age 40, of later, age 55.
During the Menopause:
- Female hormones production lessens
- Change in periods happens (more or less time in between, less bleeding)
- Change in uterine mucous membrane happens (becomes thinner and less resilient)
- Uterus becomes less
Menopause can last several years (8-10). It is divided in several stages.
Premenopause is from the beginning of the ovary problems until the period stops. Menstrual cycle is irregular with poor bleeding. For woman it is hard to conceive.
Menopause is when the hormones are not produced. Menstrual cycle is absent.
Post menopause. 3 to 5 years in average. The ovary completely stops working.

- Less sexual attraction
- Unpleasant feelings in bladder
The listed signs disappear when the organism accommodates its new physiologic state. Some women suffer the menopause syndrome heavily and for long time.
